The Season of Advent

The 2025 Advent season begins on Sunday, November 30, 2025, and concludes on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Christmas Eve. The season consists of four Sundays, each marked by a theme of Christmas preparation. Key dates are: the First Sunday of Advent (Nov. 30), the Second Sunday (Dec. 7), the Third Sunday (Dec. 14), and the Fourth Sunday (Dec. 21).  

The four themes of Advent are hope, peace, joy, and love. These themes are traditionally explored over the four weeks leading up to Christmas, guiding believers in their spiritual preparation for the celebration of Jesus' birth. 

• Hope:

  The first week focuses on the anticipation of the Messiah, reflecting the ancient hope for his coming. 

• Peace:

  The second week centers on peace, as promised by Christ's arrival. 

• Joy:

  The third week celebrates joy, reflecting the shepherds' reaction to the news of Jesus' birth. 

• Love:

  The final week emphasizes love, representing the ultimate love shown through Jesus' birth.
